Local artists hone their artisan crafts with the whole town’s support and encouragement, from three-dimensional works to paintings with watercolor or oils.

Some local artisans use fiber, glass and found objects to draw from ancient themes and the natural world, while others create beautiful landscapes with pastels and take inspiration from early California impressionists.

Whatever your fancy, you’ll enjoy the variety of local artisan crafts in Cambria. Many of the local artists have lived and worked in this town all their lives, and while some are new to the area, their unique vision for art and beauty helps them fit right in with the quirky characters that call Cambria home.

Visitors can enjoy the annual Art and Wine Festival, the Petals and Palettes art and garden show, the 927 Show, and the Pinedorado Art Show.

For more information on local artists, visit Cambria Center for the Arts located on Main Street, or visit the Allied Arts Association online at artistsofcambria.com/artists.

Highway Closures

Highway 1 Closure

If you're heading to the Central Coast, be sure to be mindful of the stretch of Highway 1, 21 miles north of Cambria. Caltrans is busy with a major construction project to make traveling along the stunning Pacific Coast Highway a safer journey.

Highway 1 Storm Repair Along the Big Sur Coast Due to multiple active slides, State Route 1 is now closed between Ragged Pt. (SLO 72.87) and just south of Nepenthe (Mon 44).

Worried about Highway 1 Road Closures? Cambria and Hearst Castle are easily accessible from Highway 46 West from 101 South of Paso Robles or from northbound Highway 1 from the city of San Luis Obispo. Travelers from the north can easily take Highway 101 as an alternate route to Highway 1, which reduces travel time to Cambria by about 25 minutes.
