Holiday Happenings in Cambria, CA

If you’re hoping to escape for the holidays, look no further—Cambria offers a winter wonderland right by the sea (without the snow)! There are so many safe and socially distant ways to make your holidays special after a stressful year, whether you’re hoping to see the extraordinary Christmas light displays, enjoy some winter treats, or simply want to warm up with some delicious clam chowder. You’ll find everything you’re looking for and more on a very merry winter getaway in enchanting Cambria.

This year, the Cambria Pines Lodge is hosting a special, socially distant Christmas light experience for the holidays, where more than 2 million lights will dazzle guests in delightful displays! The area will have a one-way path, a reduced number of guests with masks required, and increased sanitization procedures for all shared areas to ensure the safety of guests and staff. NOTE: This event is only available to guests staying overnight with the Christmas package at a Moonstone Hotels property, including the Lodge, J. Patrick House, and Sea Otter Inn. (Tickets will not be sold to the general public.)

Cozy up with clam chowder

The Central Coast is well-known for its tasty clam chowder, and Cambria is no exception. Many restaurants offer it as one of their daily soup options while others keep it on the menu full-time, but wherever you stop for a steaming-hot bowl, you’ll be sure to leave with a full stomach and a full heart. Be sure to stop by local restaurants like Black Cat Bistro and Linn’s Restaurant to check out their yummy takeout options.

Hunt for holiday treasures

There are no chains in Cambria, which means each storefront is completely unique. Search the shelves to find holiday gifts for everyone on your list—just don’t forget to pick out something memorable for yourself!

Although our tasting rooms are currently closed, many local wineries are offering take-home tastings, curbside pick-up, and bottle purchases, including Moonstone Cellars and Stolo Family Vineyards. Please call before you visit to find out more about each tasting room’s specific requirements.

Savor a slice of pie

You can have a slice of Cambria no matter where you’re celebrating with an olallieberry pie from Linn’s! You can grab one in a variety of flavors, but they also ship their goods all over the country, including delectable pies and preserves that will add a special flair and flavor to your holiday meal.

Conquer a cold morning with a cup of coffee

Cambria is home to a number of charming cafés, each offering special delicacies and appealing options. Cambria Coffee Roasting Co. is a local staple that roasts their own brews in house and creates their own gourmet blends. Lily’s Coffeehouse has more substantial foods and great coffee in a socially distant setting.

Snuggle by the sea

Grab a blanket and head down to Moonstone Beach, where you can snuggle up to stay warm, listen to the sound of the waves, and enjoy the salty air. If you’re there during the day, you can search for moonstones—but the sunsets are truly stunning.

Low rates on lodging

Besides all of the other great reasons to visit Cambria in winter, room rates are more affordable than ever, and you can stay right by the ocean or cuddle up in town without breaking the budget. Your winter escape is just a short drive away… so what are you waiting for? Book your stay today!
