If you're heading to the Central Coast, be sure to be mindful of the stretch of Highway 1, 21 miles north of Cambria. Caltrans is busy with a major construction project to make traveling along the stunning Pacific Coast Highway a safer journey.
Highway 1 between Ragged Point and Gorda will no longer be closed overnight, but daytime roadwork will continue Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control via a temporary traffic signal 24/7. Travelers can expect traffic delays between 5-10 minutes.
Additional overnight road closures of Highway 1 may be scheduled prior to the completion of the project in 2017, but none are planned at this time. For the latest road closure information visit the Caltrans website here here.
