Summer vacation means more time spent with family and friends, warm weather, and an abundance of memorable moments. Walking along Moonstone Beach, shopping on Main Street, venturing up the coast to see the elephant seals, hiking the many trails—we always say there’s something for everyone in Cambria. When you come to Cambria this summer, make sure to add these events to your to-do list to round out the perfect trip!
17th Annual Gene Cerise Country Coast Classic Bike Ride
The Country Coast Classic, taking place in Cambria on Saturday, June 24, supports and funds programs that promote positive development of the youth in the community. Riders can do 1/4–century, 1/2-century and 3/4-century rides on some of the most scenic coastline in the area. Registration includes well-stocked rest stops, experienced SAG, a barbecue lunch and a raffle ticket.
Picnic in the Park
The Fourth of Julyis always cause for a big celebration in Cambria. This year, join in the party at Shamel Park on Tuesday, July 4, with food, games, live bands and dancing! The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and continues through the evening, ending with a spectacular fireworks display.
Art and Adventure Auction
On Saturday, July 22, enjoy a fabulous dinner prepared by Robin’s Restaurant as a selection of art donated by locally and nationally known artists is auctioned off, as well as exciting adventure trips. This event is hosted by Greenspace and benefits their local environmental and cultural efforts.
New Tour of Hearst Castle—The Art of San Simeon
This brand new semi-private tour highlights William Randolph Hearst and how he acquired his remarkable paintings, tapestries, sculptures, antiquities, and furniture. This two-hour tour, offered twice daily, only runs for a limited time, from Monday, May 1 to Friday, June 30, so be sure to take advantage of this special opportunity.
2017 Pinedorado Days
Pinedorado Days is a Labor Day Weekend event that kicks off on Saturday, September 2, and continues through Monday, September 4. After the big parade on Saturday, the Pinedorado grounds will offer barbecues, kids games, prizes, face-painting, food booths, kiddy cars, an art show and live music. There will also be a beer and wine pub. The car show on Sunday at the Veteran’s Hall will feature all years and makes. This weekend is fun for the whole family.
