Cambria is a getaway full of natural wonders, hidden treasures, and an abundance of breathtaking scenery. Pictures don’t quite do this seaside village justice—you have to see it to understand. Every point on the map in Cambria is a new chance to discover the heart of what makes this unique town so universally adored by locals and visitors alike.



When you come into Cambria on Highway 1, you may not realize how much there is to see and do. The Cambria Discovery Loop offers countless opportunities to explore in the area. It includes some of our favorite hikes and trails, natural wonders, hidden gems, and historical hotspots.

If the outdoors are constantly calling you, check out the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk, with stunning ocean views and impressive sunsets, or the elephant seal rookery, where thousands of elephant seals gather every year for birthing season. Don’t miss Fiscalini Ranch, which is full of trails and benches to stop and enjoy the views.

For the history and architecture buffs visiting the Central Coast, the Cambria Historical Museum offers a self-guided tour of the many historical landmarks peppered throughout the town, including the Old Santa Rosa Chapel, Garden, and Cemetery.

Nitt Witt Ridge (Permanently Closed)

If you wanted to uncover all of the lesser-known places within the village, Nitt Witt Ridge was an amalgamation of found objects combined to create what is arguably Cambria’s most unique residence. As of June 2022, Nitt Witt Ridge is no longer open to the public. For horse lovers, Covell Clydesdale Ranch offers tours and trail rides through thousands of acres of preserved land.

Hearst Castle

Everyone will enjoy Hearst Castle, a stunning estate just six miles north of Cambria. Built by William Randolph Hearst beginning in 1919, “La Cuesta Encantada,” or the Enchanted Hill, is now a museum offering film screenings, a variety of tours, and a showcase of splendor that will leave visitors in awe.
