However you create your stay, Cambria can speak your love language.

Strolling Around

Moonstone Beach Boardwalk

No morning (or evening for that matter!) in Cambria is complete without a stroll on Moonstone Beach. Meander along the one-mile boardwalk, famous for its dramatic coastline and breathtaking views. Spend your time searching for tiny moonstones, exploring the tide pools or watching the sea otters frolicking in the waves.

If you’re looking for a quiet spot away from it all, take a romantic hike on the Bluff Trail at Fiscalini Ranch. It’s here that you’ll experience some of the most stunning scenery on this mountain path that winds alongside the Pacific Ocean. The dramatic ocean bluff runs more than a mile along the shoreline, rising to a 400-foot ridge offering breath-taking views of the horizon. With access to the tide pools, this is the perfect place to explore local marine wildlife and spot migrating whales, birds and playful sea otters floating in the kelp forest. Pack a picnic, bring along a blanket and a bottle of wine, and enjoy a romantic sunset dinner on the bluff before heading back to town.

Get a glimpse of the town’s historic architecture up close on the Historical Society’s self-guided Walking Tour. You’ll see original historic buildings, structures, and lavish homes of Cambria’s founding families now restored and operating as thriving businesses. Tour the famed Piedras Blancas Light Station, first illuminated in 1875 to serve as a beacon for sailors navigating the rugged coastline. Explore the restored lighthouse, surrounding buildings and grounds of this historic park and wildlife sanctuary.

Wine Tasting

Stolo Family Winery

Famous for world-class wineries and vineyards, no trip to the Central Coast would be complete without a wine tasting excursion. Treat the one you love to an unforgettable wine rendezvous at a hillside vineyard. Stop by the Stolo Family Winery & Vineyards for the Walk, Talk & Wine Tasting Tour (on the 1st Saturday of every month). The restored farmhouse and dairy, dating back to the late 1800s, sits at the base of a sun-kissed vineyard. Learn about the planting process and the vineyard’s history as you stroll through the lush vines and rolling hills. Your tour finishes in the rustic tasting room where you’ll sample three complimentary estate wines produced at this award-winning winery. Don’t forget to get a bottle or two for later on. But don’t stop here, there are plenty of tasting rooms to visit in Cambria, and all along the Pacific Coast Wine Trail.

Highway Closures

Highway 1 Closure

If you're heading to the Central Coast, be sure to be mindful of the stretch of Highway 1, 21 miles north of Cambria. Caltrans is busy with a major construction project to make traveling along the stunning Pacific Coast Highway a safer journey.

Highway 1 Storm Repair Along the Big Sur Coast Due to multiple active slides, State Route 1 is now closed between Ragged Pt. (SLO 72.87) and just south of Nepenthe (Mon 44).

Worried about Highway 1 Road Closures? Cambria and Hearst Castle are easily accessible from Highway 46 West from 101 South of Paso Robles or from northbound Highway 1 from the city of San Luis Obispo. Travelers from the north can easily take Highway 101 as an alternate route to Highway 1, which reduces travel time to Cambria by about 25 minutes.
