International Observe the Moon Night
NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night is a time for curious night-watchers to come together to learn about lunar science and exploration, and take part in celestial observations. It’s all in the name of honoring cultural and personal connections to the Moon.
Observe the Moon Night occurs when the Moon is around the first quarter, and features speakers discussing the heavens and sharing impressive images of the Moon and other celestial entities. Powerful telescopes will also be available for viewing.
A $10 donation is requested from those attending. Proceeds go toward assisting downtown and Moonstone Beach Drive businesses in upgrading to dark-sky-friendly lighting. The upgrades intend to help Cambria achieve certification as an International Dark Sky Place, with lowered light pollution and better stargazing conditions for all.
