At the Threshold Between Impressionism and Realism in Watercolor
Step into a three-day immersive workshop designed to elevate your watercolor practice at the Cambria Center for the Arts. Led by internationally recognized artist and instructor Frank Eber, this class explores the delicate balance between impressionism and realism—where expressive mark-making meets thoughtful observation.
Through a combination of demonstration and hands-on painting, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of essential techniques, including color mixing, value, edges, composition, and the interplay of light and shadow. Working in an alla prima, or wet-on-wet style, you’ll learn how to create paintings that feel both spontaneous and intentional.
With a focus that goes beyond technique, this workshop invites you to explore the subtle forces that bring a painting to life—helping you build confidence, refine your skills, and discover new depth in your work.
This workshop is priced at $375, or $350 for CCA members. Please note that this is a small-class setting, so be sure to sign up early if you would like to attend.
