Step off the trail and into a deeper understanding of one of Cambria’s most treasured natural spaces. This guided docent walk at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve explores the lesser-seen side of conservation—focusing on the invasive plants that quietly shape the landscape and the ongoing efforts to manage them.
Led by docent Michael Thomas, this two-hour experience takes participants mostly off trail to learn how invasive species arrive, spread, and impact the Ranch’s native ecosystem. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into the hands-on work volunteers do year-round to protect the preserve and keep its vibrant wildflowers and coastal habitat thriving.
Register online to join this guided docent walk. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for off-trail walking. Children are welcome with adult supervision. No dogs are allowed. Please note that there are no restroom facilities on-site, and the event may be canceled in the event of rain.
