Wild Ginger

Let’s just say it: Wild Ginger Café isn’t your grandmother’s Chinese restaurant. As a matter of fact, this Asian and Pacific Rim influenced eatery, which opened in 2002 and is now a must-eat destination for Central Coast foodies, is the only spot of its kind in San Luis Obispo County. Chef and owner Deborah Mok says, “it’s all about the food,” and to this Singapore native, that means shopping at local farmers’ markets for the freshest produce and buying directly from regional seafood purveyors. Beers, wines and sake are carefully chosen to complement the cuisine. All desserts are made in-house, including the exotic and colorful sorbets.
