Pico Creek Beach Access, just south of San Simeon, is considered one of the best surfing areas along the Central Coast. There is a reef break just in front of the creek mouth, making for a smooth ride. The creek runs most of the year and the lagoon with much wildlife is year-round. There are also trails to the bluff accessible from Highway 1 just north of the bridge.
