Join in on this full-day watercolor workshop set among Cambria’s rolling hills and coastal beauty. Watercolor Wonders: Hills & Valleys invites you to slow down, take in the scenery, and bring it to life on paper—from sunlit meadows to misty hillside slopes.
Guided by local artist Jay Stieler of Coast Art House, this immersive experience blends thoughtful instruction with relaxed creativity. Whether you’re refining your skills or simply looking for a creative escape, you’ll explore techniques that help capture the movement, mood, and natural rhythm of the land.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn how to:
- Layer washes to create soft, rolling landscapes
- Mix natural greens and earthy tones inspired by the Central Coast
- Use light and shadow to shape depth and dimension
- Build perspective through flowing, organic contours
The workshop takes place at Camp Ocean Pines, with a mix of indoor and outdoor instruction—so you can stay inspired by the surroundings every step of the way. We recommend bringing layers, sun protection, and comfortable shoes for exploring. Workshop rate is $130, and includes all instruction materials, and a lunch provided by Camp Ocean Pines.
