Moments of Restoration

Take the Time to Refresh Your Spirit

Cambria is well-known for being quiet and secluded—the perfect place to escape for some meditation and mindfulness. Yoga is one of the best ways to center yourself in a time of turmoil. Tula Yoga offers sessions in their Cambria studio, but they also have beach yoga classes where you can stretch to the sound of the waves. Of course, you can always head down to Moonstone Beach and stretch on your own. Nourish your mind, body, and spirit with deliciously healthy foods from the Farmers Market, held weekly on Friday afternoons. Fresh produce and local goods are available in abundance—but let yourself indulge with a piece of Linn’s olallieberry pie, too. (It’s good for the soul.)

Moments of Serenity

Find Peace on the Shores of the Pacific

Famous for its dramatic coastline and breathtaking views, the 1-mile-long Moonstone Beach Boardwalk is where your seaside escape begins. Whether you want to sink your toes into the sand, catch glimpses of marine life, explore living tide pools, or simply relax and watch the sunset, you will find there is something for everyone on Moonstone Beach. Located at the north end of the beach is Leffingwell Landing, and there’s no better place in town for a moment of solitude and serenity. Enjoy the sounds of the waves as you clear your mind. Start your walk at Leffingwell Landing and make your way down to an all-time favorite, Moonstone Beach.

Moments of Awe

See Stunning Natural Wonders & Wildlife

The Central Coast’s wildlife peaks during the months of January and February, which is why it has been dubbed the Season of Coastal Discovery. The Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is home to a number of endangered species and species of special concern, offering a wonderful display of nature’s diversity. The Ranch is bordered by a riparian habitat that encompasses tidal effect zones, seasonal freshwater marshes, and wetlands dotted with birds. The most outstanding natural feature is the dramatic ocean bluff that runs more than a mile along the shoreline of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Hundreds of newborn elephant seal pups lie at the Piedra Blancas Rookery, an exotic herd of zebras grazes the fields at Hearst Ranch, and the California Grey Whale is in migration, providing plenty of whale watching opportunities on the Whale Trail. Keep an eye out for dolphins, seals, and otters, too!

Moments of Nostalgia

Return to Yesteryear on Historic Highway 1

See a part of history when you visit the Santa Rosa Chapel, a National Historic Registry landmark and one of the oldest churches in the County, built in 1870. It served the community for 91 years, until falling into a state of neglect—which was restored for seven years, rededicated for community use in September of 1984. You can also venture out on the Historic Walking Tour to explore the town through a different lens. Be sure to look for all of the phases of history in Cambria via the unique architecture. Just up Highway 1 from Cambria, the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse offers another perspective on the past with stunning coastal views.

Moments of Coziness

Snuggle Up & Stay Warm by the Sea

The Central Coast is well-known for its tasty clam chowder, and Cambria is no exception. Many restaurants offer it as one of their rotating daily soup options, while others keep it on the menu full-time, but wherever you stop for a steaming-hot bowl, you’ll be sure to leave with a full stomach and a full heart. Stop by Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill or Sea Chest Oyster Bar for conveniently coastal views during your meal. When you awaken on a chilly morning in Cambria, step into one of our charming cafés, each offering special delicacies and appealing options. Cambria Coffee Roasting Co. is a local staple that roasts its own brews in-house and creates its own gourmet blends. Lily’s Coffeehouse has more substantial foods and great coffee in a socially distant setting.
