Your Cambria Bucket List

What’s on your list of things to do before you kick the bucket? In Cambria, there’s no shortage of fulfilling activities to add to your itinerary—but if you’re feeling ambitious, simply make an entire weekend out of the things you can only do in Cambria. (We’d call them once-in-a-lifetime, but the best part about Cambria is that you can relive your favorite experiences again and again whenever you decide to come back to this unique coastal getaway!)

Things to Bring

  • Picnic blanket & basket
  • Sunscreen
  • Walking shoes
  • Sunglasses
  • Sense of adventure

Day 1

  • Arrive in Cambria
  • Hunt for moonstones on Moonstone Beach
These small, white stones pepper the rocky sand at Moonstone Beach. One of the best ways to spend an afternoon enjoying the coast is to find these tiny keepsakes.
  • Dinner at Sea Chest Oyster Bar & Restaurant
This restaurant is a unique experience with no reservations, but always worth the wait. Please note it is cash only.
  • Live music at Cambria Pines Lodge
There is live music every weekend, and whether you’re into classic rock or covers of your favorite oldies, you’ll be able to dance the night away!

Day 2

  • Explore Hearst Castle
You really can’t go wrong with this majestic bucket list stop. Pick the tour that piques your fancy and step back in time for a moment, taking in the luxury of this castle on a hill.
  • Tour and goat cheese tasting at Stepladder Ranch
This hidden gem sits in the hills of Cambria, enticing visitors to meet their herd of Lamancha goats, taste fresh goat cheese, and learn all about cheese making at this historic ranch. Call in advance to book your tour.
  • Picnic on the beach or in Fiscalini Ranch
Either way, you’ll have incredible views and an unforgettable experience. Grab sandwiches, charcuterie, and a bottle of wine or craft beer from Soto’s True Earth Market and enjoy!
  • Afternoon in Harmony, CA
Harmony is a village just five miles south of Cambria, full of artisans and small-town charm. Take a glass blowing lesson at Harmony Glass Works and create your own vase or bowl with the help of experienced professionals. Then, wine taste at Harmony Cellars, one of six wineries on the Pacific Coast Wine Trail.
  • Life is short—eat dessert first.
Start with a slice (or two) of famous olallieberry pie at Linn’s Easy As Pie, and finish with dinner at Robin’s Restaurant, known for its creative international fare and charming atmosphere.

Day 3

  • Breakfast at Linn’s Restaurant
This time, head to Linn’s main restaurant for an olallieberry muffin, or try something heartier, like a classic omelet. You can’t go wrong at Linn’s—however, we always recommend taking some olallieberry jam home with you!
  • Search for treasures in the West Village
Shopping in Cambria is an experience unlike any other, as you’re sure to find treasures around every corner. There are no chains in Cambria, so each unique shop holds surprises you’ll cherish for years to come.
  • Depart from Cambria (but please, come back soon!)
