Spring 2019 Events

Spring has sprung in Cambria, and as the wildflowers bloom, exciting spring events are popping up all around town. From the Wildflower Show and Eroica California to a Winemakers Dinner and Zin Fest Weekend—in Cambria, as always, there is something for everyone. Come to the Central Coast for wine tasting, cycling, art exhibits, and everything spring.


Hearst Castle Spring Evening Tours

March through May

Offered seasonally, this special tour enables guests to experience the Castle illuminated at night, and is longer than daytime tours (100 minutes). Docents in period dress bring 1930s history to life as they move silently through the sumptuous rooms of Casa Grande. A vintage newsreel in Hearst’s private theater rounds out the evening.


Zin Fest Weekend

Saturday, March 16, 12 – 3 p.m.

Swing by Harmony Cellars for some Irish-themed fun! Our 100% Irish Winemaker and the emerald green hills surrounding our winery will make you feel like you ARE in Ireland. Hearty Irish stew + soda bread and live music are the perfect accompaniment to a flight of Charlie’s lively Zins. Food for purchase 12-3pm. $10/non club, $8/club. No reservations, but Harmony Cellars recommends coming early!


St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Sunday, March 17

Join Robin’s Restaurant for a bit of the green on Sunday, March 17. They will be offering Brunch, a Dinner Special and Beer Specials. PLUS, Irish Music Among Friends will play in the garden from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Mention the music when making reservations at robinsrestaurant.com or (805) 927-5007.


Winemaker Dinner

Sunday, March 24, 6 – 9 p.m.

You’re invited to a Spring Winemaker Dinner with Oceanpoint Ranch and Hearst Ranch Winery. Revel in the rustic charm of Oceanpoint Ranch while sipping a variety of award-winning wines paired perfectly with our unique tasting menu prepared by Executive Chef Thomas Drahos. Tickets are $95 per person and include a 5 course paired dinner served at the Canteen at Oceanpoint Ranch. Limited space available, event will sell out.

Eroica California

Saturday, April 6 – Sunday, April 7

This world-renowned vintage cycling event has four routes of various lengths that showcase the best cycling in the area. As the only Eroica event in the USA, Eroica California is the perfect opportunity to experience the history of cycling first-hand in a stunning location. This region will soon enter every cyclist’s bucket list when Eroica California showcases Cambria in 2019 for the very first time.


17th Annual California Sculptors Symposium

Sunday, April 21 – Sunday, April 28

The towering pines and seaside cliffs of Cambria provide inspiration for artists from around the world. Following the annual week-long California Sculptors Symposium at Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria, world-class and amateur sculptors exhibit and sell work created during the week at the Sculptures by the Sea event. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists as they work in fields overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This unique, seaside art show will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.


14th Annual Cambria Wildflower Show

Saturday, April 13 – Sunday, April 14, 12 – 5 p.m.

Have you ever wondered about the wildflowers, shrubs, and trees you see flowering on your spring walks and drives on the central coast? You can have your wildflower questions answered by experts and view hundreds of bouquets of fresh wildflowers collected in northern San Luis Obispo County, labeled with botanical names and families along with common names. Helpful books and plant lists will be available for purchase to help you identify and enjoy wildflowers in their natural habitats. Enjoy great snacks at the Wildflower Café. An entry donation of $3 is requested; students are free.


Petals and Palettes Tour

Thursday, May 2 – Sunday, May 26

A long-time Cambria favorite, this show pairs paintings with live flower arrangements done by members of the Cambria Garden Club just in time for Mother’s Day! Take-in day is April 30, 10 a.m. – noon; reception is Friday, May 3, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Attending the reception and first weekend is encouraged as the arrangements are at their freshest!


Cambria Heritage Day

Saturday, May 25, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Attend Cambria’s Annual Heritage Day at the Cambria Historical Museum, featuring displays and demonstrations of all things old fashioned! Free admission, with food and beverages available. Live music, vintage vehicles, family activities, and vintage crafts performed live! And much, much more!
