As the fall season sweeps in, with hints of pumpkin and cider on the breeze, feelings of magic and mystery fill the air. Cambria is known for more than its stunning seaside views, with unique shops, delicious food, and intriguing sights. Make this your autumn destination for a getaway with just a hint of the macabre. Who knows, you just might find yourself spellbound.

Mysterious Mercantiles

Spellbound Gift Shop & Garden

This quaint shop, located in one of the oldest buildings in Cambria, was originally an 1870s homestead. Wander through the shop to see the many pleasures and specialties they have to offer, and be certain to take a stroll through their beautiful gardens filled with sweet-smelling herbs and flowers.

Sea + Green

Taking inspiration from both the ocean and the land, Sea + Green is a store that sells handmade and vintage goods. Their focus on crystals and earthen self-care, not to mention their commitment to sustainability and giving back, wards away all the bad vibes!

Mystical Meals

Black Cat Bistro

For delicious and unusual meals, sample the Black Cat Bistro. Known for serving Innovative Farm Fresh Fare, the menu is always changing because the restaurant serves food that reflects seasonal, local produce. They also work hard to make sure the products are organically raised and farmed sustainably. Celebrate the earth by eating at a place that replenishes what it takes.

Indigo Moon

For a touch of midnight elegance at any time, visit the Indigo Moon restaurant! Modern American Cuisine with a flair, they create dishes that utilize and honor the bounty of the Central Coast. They were originally established as a wine cheese shop, and the original shop is still right next door. Now, you have the options of dining in the charming front room, the amazing patios, or the garden.

Black Hand Cellars

The Black Hand Cellars Tasting Room offers outstanding red wines and stories that go with the “speakeasy” theme of the room. Named after family folklore involving the Black Hand Mafia and a liking for great grandfather’s famous wine, the winery’s identity centers around the roaring 20s. Visit for a wine tasting, or enjoy a tumbler of a drink more appropriate for the season—hard cider.

Old Stone Station

Built in 1931, the Old Stone Station was originally a gas station! When it was sold in 1993, it was completely remodeled into the homey restaurant that it is today. The setting is unique, the food is great, and pets are welcome! But be careful—legend has it that former gas station owner Woody Woodland still haunts the place.
